Our adventure looking for snow in Ceres, Western Cape

So yesterday we decided to take a 2 hour drive from Cape Town to search for snow near the tranquil beautiful little town of Ceres. Just about an hours drive outside of Ceres every winter, visitors from all over he Western Cape searches for the annual winter snowfall in the Matroosberg Mountains.

Unfortunately for us we never got to see any snow, except for high up on the surrounding mountain peaks. It was freezing, never experienced such cold before, living in Cape Town and all. My fingers and toes were numb, but the scenery was well worth the drive. The drive itself is an adventure on its own, with high mountains and beautiful mountain waterfalls gushing down these majestic mountains from all the rainfall experienced on the day and in the Western Cape the past week.

This scenic drive was well worth it, even though we never got to see or touch  snow, we sure felt it.

Here are a few snapshots of us braving the cold.
